The “credit system” providers use for punch cards and memberships is now an outdated and obsolete way to retain clients. In short, the credit system is a thing of the past.
<heading-gray>Credit system 👎 out, but why?<heading-gray>

A credit system is based on first having to buy credits. Clients purchase these via a punch card or membership you offer. That is where the issue begins. To sell single sessions, clients must first purchase credits before they can even book a workout. Hardly great for conversions, and your first limitation. An example of using credits is that a personal training session costs 3 credits and a group class costs 1 credit. This means you can never offer a focused, controlled punch card valid strictly for specific workouts. That is your second limitation. Not to mention the different memberships you might want to offer. Imagine wanting to sell a 2x-per-week group class membership. Your clients should only be able to book 2x per week, right? With a credit system, that means they can only “spend” 2 credits. As a result, your clients are restricted to booking a maximum of 1 week ahead. A workaround would be issuing more credits, but then it's no longer a 2x-per-week membership. And there you have the third limitation. Want to offer combination memberships with the credit system? For instance, 2x per week group classes and 1x per week personal training? Forget it! While not an absolute roadblock, it's definitely a limitation if you are a personal trainer or studio aiming to offer personalized packages to your clients.
<heading-gray>How does AppyBee 👍 solve that?<heading-gray>

AppyBee uses a well-thought-out, innovative, and proven approach without any hassle. Want to sell a single workout that costs €49? Booked in just a few clicks and paid instantly via iDEAL. A huge win for your conversion rate. Within AppyBee, clients book and pay for the workout directly. When selling punch cards in AppyBee, you define the workouts, strictly avoiding credits. For example, you want to offer a punch card for all your group classes: legs-glutes-abs, bootcamp, and yoga. In AppyBee, you can set up a punch card and grant 10 sessions. You specify exactly which workouts they can book for a maximum of 10 times. Your clients can never make an incorrect booking, saving you even more time. The same logic applies when offering a 2x-per-week membership: you specify which sessions they can book up to a maximum of 2x per week. This allows you to decide how far in advance—or even unlimited in time—your clients can book. Transparent for your clients, while saving you, as a personal trainer or studio, tons of time. That is precisely why our membership module is “Smart”. You can now also offer a smart membership featuring combined weekly and monthly options. For example, 2x per week a group class and 1x per month personal training. Read more about this in our other blog post.
